ConVivio - Calabria, Italy
This is what I got. This is what my pasta looked like. Today we went to a restaurant called ConVivio in Fiumefreddo Bruzio, Italy. It was getting dark because we had been fishing late and I lost my shoes in the sand, so I had to look all over the beach until I found them. By that time, we were starving. We eventually found a restaurant where we had to drive up a winding two way street to a medieval castle on top of the mountain and inside the walls was a local family owne

Fish market in Essaouira, Morocco
There are sailfish bills on the wall Last week, we went to Morocco from Portugal. Our first stop was Marrakech and we spent 2 nights there. I did not like Marrakech at all because it was so crowded and the food wasn't very good. After Marrakech, we drove to Essaouira and stayed in the medina. It was similar to Marrakech but much smaller and with fewer people. We ate lunch in a local stall at the fish market in the medina and for starters we had french fries. It was so salty

soggy sandwitch Coquimbo, Chile
bodybuilder bird that skipped leg day While driving in Chile, we stopped in a coastal town called Coquimbo. It was lunchtime and we were hungry so we stopped at a small local seafood market to grab some food and check out the fish that the stalls were selling. The "restaurants" were just food trucks lined up. We ended up stopping at a truck that was selling mainly fish sandwiches since we were right next to the ocean. While we were eating we saw these cool birds that looke

Pachapapa in Cusco , Peru
Trout ceviche This is the Alpaca Harp player Today we went to Pachapapa in Cusco , Peru in the San Blas neighborhood. The architecture was nice with a little tunnel as you were walking in with stone pebbles on the ground and some art on the walls of the tunnel. The actual interior courtyard was open with some sheets hanging over the courtyard in case it rained. As soon as we walked in the servers were quick to bring us to our table since there weren’t any people and we had

Punto Azul - Lima, Peru
Today I went to my first restaurant in Peru called Punto Azul. It was in the Miraflores neighborhood in Lima. The architecture looked Spanish, probably because of the Spanish colonialism impact that they left. I ordered a frozen passion fruit or maracuya drink, which was good. We ordered a bunch of food for the table to share. First came the conchas negras, which is blood clam ceviche, I thought it was very tender and rich. We also got a combo so it came with fresh fish and

Tama Shokudo - Merida Mexico
Today I went to a Japanese restaurant that is owned by a Mexican family but of Japanese descent. It is called Tama Shokudo. As soon as you see the entrance, it gives off homey vibes of a traditional Japanese and family owned restaurant set inside their house. The decorations were very interesting because the different tables were set inside the various rooms of the house. There were books and some little trinkets, they even had a samurai sword which was cool. The service was

Bar Latino - Merida Mexico
Today I went to Bar Latino, one of the oldest cantina's in Merida, Mexico. As soon as I walked though the saloon doors, I was hit with the smell of cigarettes. As we walked to our table the stench cleared a bit since the area where we were eating was airy and breathable. I appreciated the architecture of the place. The restaurant was very loud because there was a group of people that we’re laughing like a pack of hyenas. The waiter was very helpful with taking my orders and

Parador 33 - Merida Mexico
Today I went to Parador 33, located at the start of the famed Paseo de Montejo in Merida, Mexico. The restraunt felt moody with dim lights, incense, and candles scattered around the walls and tables. We were a group of 19 and our two tables were nicely seperated from the rest of the restraunt by hanging white ropes. We did have to wait about 10 minutes for our table since they were lazy to set the tables, even though we had a reservation. The waiter was sort of helpful but

Temprada de Tacos - Merida, Mexico
Today we went to Temporada de Tacos (Taco Season) which is a small restaurant run by two women and some cooks. This place is so good, every time we go to Mérida I cannot wait to go here. The interior is very different then other taco places or restaurants in general, but that’s what makes this place so good and unique. The tables are made of wood that are bolted to concrete blocks, the space is very airy and welcoming. As you walk in the staff are very helpful and understand
