Today I went to Parador 33, located at the start of the famed Paseo de Montejo in Merida, Mexico. The restraunt felt moody with dim lights, incense, and candles scattered around the walls and tables. We were a group of 19 and our two tables were nicely seperated from the rest of the restraunt by hanging white ropes. We did have to wait about 10 minutes for our table since they were lazy to set the tables, even though we had a reservation.
The waiter was sort of helpful but he acted like a smug French person who was mad that you don't speak fluently in his language. It turned out he was French. When I ordered a coke, he brought it to me and I was very dissapointed because it cost as much as a normal sized coke, but I only ordered a small can. Also, the coke was warm. Additionally, when my family was getting their drinks, the waiter got it all mixed up. I also noticed that the table was wobbly making it easy to spill a drink.
For appetizers, we got a pulpo carpaccio dish or octopus. I typically do not like thinly sliced pieces as it makes it hard to eat, but this was exceptionally good. We also got fish ceviche, it was hard to taste the actual fish since there was a lot of salt and a touch of lime, but it was also soft and flaky and it melted in your mouth.
For my entree, I ordered the Wagyu beef and it came with roasted potatoes and carrots. The steak was very buttery and had a touch of salt and smelled of rosemary. It was almost a perfect medium rare and it was very juicy. Unfortunately, my knife was dull making it hard to cut my meat on a shaky table.
I would recommend this resteraunt to any one who likes a moody atmosphere and guests who have a large crowd. Overall, the food was was very flavorful and definitely of a high quality. I would go back again and give it an 8.2 out of ten and I would order the steak again.

This looks great
