The Octopus or in latin Octopus vulgaris. Octopus are very versatile creatures meaning that they have no bones in thieir entire body and they can live in any salt water climate warm or cold. Octopus make nests often made out of shells, rocks and other debris. Octopus have eight tenticles which have suction cups on them helping grip thier prey to kill it.

This animal does not have a traditional mouth, it has something called a beak. Their beak is in the middle of all their tentacles and can break almost anything, and are very sharp. Octopus feed on crustaceans, fish, snails, clams, and scallops. When an Octopus is looking for its prey it ambushes it.

Octopus are some of the smartest creatures in the world and have many special features in their body. They have a unique nervous systems that allows it to change colors. A defensive mechanism where they shoot out ink and special tentacles what have suction cups on them to hold their prey.

We caught a large one is Dzlim de Bravo on our boat using handline style fishing and needle fish bait. When we brought in on board it started almost walking around the boat trying to escape. As it was two days outside of Octopus season we let it go and watched it swim away.
