Kenya for me was very interesting in its own way because during our time in Nairobi we did everything from playing soccer with the kids in Kibera, to going on bike safaris, hikes in local parks, to a safari in Masai Mara National Reserve.

Twenty years ago, my dad created a home or shelter for street children in the slums in Kenya called Kibera. Throughout these twenty years he has been providing them with a strong education, food, and a home to live in. The organization is called "The Kings and Queens Of Kibera". They have helped many generations of children with many who have become successful as adults.

We spent a few days with the children at the center playing sports and activities and getting caught up on the years we missed. While at the center we helped them clean up the entire place and reorganize all the beds and sitting/work area so that they could move around more freely and maximize their total space. We also got a chance to visit a few of the older kids (who are now adults) and some of them have started businesses of their own we and got to see their work which is very impressive. One of the older kids named Joseph started a biking safari business so we decided to go out and do a tour with him (we actually did it twice) and the experience was fun and unique. On our first ride we did sixteen km and saw everything from giraffes, ostriches, zebras, elk, and deer. It was an amazing ride but a little tiring but worth it.

The other park we visited and hiked through is a local park near our Airbnb and we got to see more of the wildlife that Kenya has to offer like waterfalls and an animal called a Hyrax. The Hyrax is a small and super cute rodent that resembles a chinchilla and makes loud screeching noise ( which is the only annoying part about these animals).
