The Blue runner or in latin the Caranx Crysos is a common fish found in the Atlantic ocean, and Canada to Brazil in the western Atlantic ocean also.
Blue runners are known for their fast speed and although they are edible and tast good they are also used at bait. Blue runners have greenish blue body with black dots on their gill cover and tail tips.
When trying to catch blue runners you will want to look for inshore near reefs and rocks. Baby Blue runners tend to stay near the more shallow reefs but when they grow bigger the tend to go out farther to looks for more food. Food wise for these fish since they are a bit more agresive they usually go for small bait fish, crabs, shrimp, prawns, lobsters, and even jellyfish so they have quite the appetite meaning that they can grow preaty fast.
We caught some good sized ones, two in total and the way we got these fish was by trolling with some big Nomad design lures the color was hot pink and purple and it was the first time we had tryed out that specific lure and it worked well. With the fish we ended up frying up the blue runners whole and it tasted amazing.
