Salt Flats and volcanos Bolivia

A couple days ago we went on a 3 day tour around different tourist destinations in Uyuni, Bolivia. Before all this fun and adventuring began, we had to take a 10 hour overnight bus to where the truck would pick us up in the desert town. The bus wasn't horrible since the seats were flat seats like beds. When we arrived at the spot where we were going to get picked up for the tour, we had to put all our bags on the top of the car but thankfully the car was built for what we were about to do. It was a Toyota 4X4 land cruiser and we only had two other people that were coming, they were two funny Italians. The first stop of our adventure was a quick 10 minute drive and it was a train cemetery where the trains were from the 1830’s-1930’s so they were all rusted and falling apart but some were still intact. It was like a train playground with some swings built for tourists and we were also allowed to climb on them so of course I did it.
After about 40 minutes of being there we went back to our car but on the way to the car we saw a little desert lizard in a bush. We drove to a little town where the adults bought beer and wine and I got a coca cola. After we continued to the salt flats which was a longer drive, about 2 hours but it was worth the drive one hundred percent. The town that the salt flats are located in is called Uyuni and the salt flat was massive, about 4,000 miles. We ate lunch after in what used to be a hotel and took some pictures with my family. After lunch, we continued to another part of the salt flat that had a mirror reflection and all it took for that effect was about 2cm of rain water.
We ended the day at our hotel in the middle of nowhere and it had no internet which was disappointing. After breakfast the next morning, we went to see volcanoes and geysers. Some geysers had bubbling mud in them and some were shooting water out (like me after Taco Bell). Driving up the mountains, we saw a bunch of deer so our tour driver chased them with the car and told a funny story that once he ran over one. Then we drove to a place with massive rock structures and what lived among the structures were very curious chichillas, they looked like a combination of a rabbit and squirrel all in it. We ended the day with taking photos of 800 year old cactuses that grow on the mountainside and can get up to 30 feet tall and grow one centimeter every year. It was a nice 3 day adventure with a lot of getting up early but worth it.

Gorgeous pictures (minus the ones with Pisey).
